Standard Refund Policy
We have taken out an abandonment and cancellation insurance policy, as such if the event is forced to abandon or cancel, 100% of your entry fee will be refunded.
Start fees will be refunded in full.
Instances in which abandonment and the subsequent refund will occur include, but are not limited to,
These instances include:
- In all circumstances the Start Fee, is fully refundable if the competitor does not start the dressage phase
- Entries that are correctly withdrawn prior to ballot date will be refunded in full
- Entries withdrawn after the ballot date will only be refunded in the event that they are replaced from a waitlist, less a £12 admin fee, or at the organiser’s discretion
- If a Veterinary Certificate or Doctor’s Certificate is received by 7pm the Monday before the competition, the Entry Fee less a £12 admin fee will be refunded
- All refunds are plus VAT where applicable

Instances in which abandonment and the subsequent refund will occur include, but are not limited to,
- When adverse weather (include extreme heat) occurs on the day(s) of the event, and which are deemed by the organisers and event officials to pose a serious threat to the safety of those attending
- When adverse weather (including extreme heat) results in conditions which the relevant local authority or government agency consider to pose a serious threat to the safety of those attending the event
- When adverse weather (including extreme heat) occurs during the run up to the event or days of the event which, despite using our best endeavours and taking all reasonable and necessary steps, prevent the event organisers from undertaking the necessary set up to enable the event to proceed due to:
- Concern for the safety of those responsible for the necessary set up; and/or
- Reasons of physical impossibility
- When adverse weather occurs on the day(s) of the event which are conducted under defined sporting rules or laws and in the opinion of the steward and supporting officials the event cannot proceed as required under the defined sporting rules.
- When delays to the event mean that the event has to be curtailed due to poor light
- Where the event had experienced a serious medical emergency such that continuation of that fixture is deemed by British Eventing, or the Organiser, not to be in the interest of the sport, competitors, officials or volunteers
These instances include:
- Civil Commotion
- Coronavirus
- Notifiable diseases, including EHV and Equine Influenza
- National Mourning
- War or Terrorism
- Before Ballot date – full refund
- Between Ballot date and 14 days prior to the event – 50% refund of entry fees plus start fees
- Between 6 – 13 days prior to the event – 30% refund of entry fees plus start fees
- Between 5 days of the event starting and 1700 the day before the event – 15% of entry fees plus start fees
- From 1700 the day before the event only start fees will be refunded
